Brow Lamination in 2026: Why the Look Has Changed
If you have been putting off brow lamination because you worried it would look too done — too stiff, too flat, too obvious — 2026 is the year to reconsider.

If you have been putting off brow lamination because you worried it would look too done — too stiff, too flat, too obvious — 2026 is the year to reconsider. Something has shifted, and it has changed what is possible with this treatment.
I have been doing brow lamination since it first became popular in London, and the conversations in my studio now are noticeably different from two or three years ago. Clients are not coming in with pictures of brows that look lacquered into place. They are bringing in references that look soft, natural, full — brows that look like brows, just better.
That shift reflects something broader: a move away from treatments that announce themselves, and toward results that simply make you look more like yourself. It is the same philosophy I apply to lash work, and it is what makes brow lamination, done well, one of the most genuinely useful treatments on our menu.
What is brow lamination?
Brow lamination is a professional treatment that restructures your natural brow hairs so they can be redirected into a lifted, groomed position. Unlike microblading or brow tattooing, it works entirely with the hairs you already have. Nothing is permanent, nothing pierces the skin.
The process takes around 45 to 60 minutes. A lifting solution softens the brow hairs, making them pliable. They are then brushed into the desired shape — upward, diagonally, or flat, depending on your natural growth and the result you are after — before a setting solution locks them in place. The result is brows that hold their position for four to eight weeks without any daily effort.
At Dejavu Lashes, every brow lamination includes waxing or threading and a tint as standard. There is no point laminating a brow that has not been properly shaped first — the two work together, and we treat them as one complete treatment.
How the look has changed in 2026
The brow lamination aesthetic has moved on considerably from its peak popularity. The ultra-flat, high-gloss finish that dominated social media in 2022 and 2023 is being replaced by something that feels more considered and more flattering on most faces.
The clients I am seeing now want brows that look styled, not brows that look done. There is a real difference — and getting that right comes down to technique and knowing when to stop.
The key shifts shaping brow appointments right now:
Soft lift over extreme height — Rather than brushing hairs straight up to their maximum height, the 2026 approach favours a gentler upward sweep that follows natural growth. Brows look lifted and groomed without appearing forced.
Flexible finish, not a rigid set — Clients want brows that move naturally through the day. Modern formulas and careful processing times make this achievable in a way that was harder a few years ago.
Natural texture preserved — The aim is to enhance what is already there — filling gaps visually, creating symmetry, adding definition — without erasing the individual character of the brow.
Brow health as a priority — Clients are more educated about brow health than ever. The demand is for treatments that support the condition of the hair rather than compromise it.
Who is brow lamination suited to?
The treatment works well for most brow types — but there are certain situations where it makes a particularly significant difference.
Brows that grow in different directions and are difficult to tame or groom daily
Sparse or fine brows that need visual density without adding permanent pigment
Anyone who wants a low-maintenance routine — laminated brows hold their position without daily effort
Clients who want definition but find microblading or tattooing too permanent a commitment
It is less suited to brows that are very short or extremely sparse, where there is simply not enough hair to redirect into a satisfying result. We always assess this at the start of every appointment and give an honest view before proceeding.
The tint — and why it matters
We include a tint with every brow lamination at Dejavu Lashes. The tint adds depth and definition to the hair itself, which is especially relevant for clients with naturally lighter or finer hairs. Laminated brows on light hair can look full up close but disappear at a normal conversational distance without colour.
The shade we choose is not a direct match to your hair colour — that often reads too heavy. Instead, we select a shade that gives the most flattering result for your skin tone and features.
Your questions answered
How long does brow lamination last?
Typically four to eight weeks, depending on your hair type, how oily your skin is, and how closely you follow the aftercare. Coarser, thicker brow hairs tend to hold the lamination longer. Finer hairs may begin to relax slightly sooner.
What is the aftercare?
For the first 24 hours, keep the brow area dry and avoid steam, sweating, and oil-based products. After that, a light nourishing brow oil or serum used regularly will condition the hairs and help the result last longer.
What is the difference between brow lamination and microblading?
Brow lamination works with your existing hairs — restructuring them into a lifted, groomed position. It is not permanent and fades naturally over six to eight weeks. Microblading is a semi-permanent tattoo technique that implants pigment into the skin to simulate hair strokes. Very different in commitment, process, and result.
Can I have brow lamination if my brows are sparse?
It depends on the level of sparseness. Lamination can help sparse brows look fuller by redistributing the hairs you have into a more even, visible position. However, if there are significant gaps with very little hair, the result will be limited. We assess this at every consultation and give an honest view before proceeding.
